There are a few quarterbacks on Michigan State’s radar for the 2022 class, but none may be quite as polished as Sam Horn.

The four-star quarterback from Georgia would be a tremendous get for Mel Tucker who just landed a talented, yet underrated, quarterback from Texas (Hamp Fay) in the 2021 class. Imagine a quarterback room with Payton Thorne, Hamp Fay and Horn. Those three would have a heck of a battle for the starting job, assuming Thorne sticks around and potentially wins the starting job in 2021 over Anthony Russo.

As we’ve seen over the years under Mark Dantonio and in Tucker’s first season, having a good quarterback is the difference between a good team and one that finishes three games under .500.

Horn stands 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds and it looks like Louisville and Missouri are standing out to him early on along with Michigan State, but the Cardinals may soon fall out of the race as they’re in the running for another quarterback who is announcing his commitment soon.

The Georgia-native is ranked the No. 97 prospect and fourth-best pro-style quarterback in the 2022 class, according to the composite. But 247Sports is even more bullish on him, ranking him 47th in the country and as the second-best pro-style quarterback.
