Kevin Thomas isn’t exactly a household name right now for Spartan fans, but Mel Tucker has made an impression on the Pennsylvania-based receiver.

The three-star wide out is listed as the 13th-best player from his state in the 2022 class and the nation’s No. 389 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports composite. He’s also the No. 57 receiver for 2022 and his 6-3, 187-pound frame would be great for a young quarterback like Payton Thorne or even Hamp Fay to throw to.

Thomas currently has just over a dozen offers and Michigan State is one of the programs standing out early on. The Spartans may find themselves in a battle with Oregon and Florida when everything whittles down. He also holds offers from Arizona State, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M and West Virginia, among others.

Michigan State will be in the market for receivers in the next cycle after only taking one in the 2021 class and not yet landing any from the transfer portal. Thomas will be a priority.
