Michigan State football’s 2021 recruiting class finished as the No. 43 group in the nation but 2022 has a chance to be something special.

With the 2021 National Signing Day drama in the books and the Spartans’ latest — and Mel Tucker’s first — class all sewn up, it’s time to look forward to the 2022 cycle.

Michigan State is in early on some big names but Tucker is hoping he doesn’t lose some elite talent like Audric Estime or Rayshaun Benny to rival schools. Both were four-star prospects and looked to have a chance at immediate impacts before flipping in the early period and February’s signing day, respectively.

Tucker signed the No. 43 class in 2021 which doesn’t seem all that impressive for a coach who preaches recruiting 24/7, but given the situation and the fact that he inherited a class with zero commitments last February, wasn’t able to recruit in person and nearly turned it into a top-40 group was rather solid.

When the wins start rolling in, the recruits will come.

If Michigan State can put together a 6-7 win season in 2021 and make a bowl game, you can bet that’ll bring a huge recruiting boost.

The Spartans are looking good with some big names both in the state and around the nation and here’s who could make up the top 10 big board for 2022 heading into the next cycle.
