It’s hard to say that Darius Snow has “something to prove” seeing as he didn’t play much in 2020, but he did have a decent game against Michigan where he recorded his only three tackles as a collegiate defensive back.

With a year of experience in Mel Tucker’s system now under his belt and after seeing some of the top prospects from the 2018 and 2019 classes depart, the pressure will be on the Spartans’ top-ranked 2020 prospect to deliver, especially since they need defensive back help.

In fact, Michigan State lost a ton from the defensive backfield like Shakur Brown, Julian Barnett, Chris Jackson and Davion Williams and although Snow doesn’t play cornerback, he’s still one of the few remaining pieces from the position group who have a high ceiling. Plus, the Spartans will need him to crack the two-deep at either safety or the nickel spot.

If Snow wants to meet expectations before falling behind too much on the depth chart, he’ll need to step up. He has the ability to be a starter either this season or next and that starts with a strong offseason. The potential is there.
