Michigan State Basketball: How good would current all-Spartan NBA team be?
Gary Harris got off to a nightmarish start to the 2020-21 season, averaging just 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 3-for-18 from the floor and 0-for-7 from deep. He was slumping hard and many worried that this may be his new normal. But after a playoff run where he proved to be an elite defender in the COVID-19 bubble, there was still hope.
Since then, he’s been on a tear. He’s scored at least 10 points over the last four games, averaging 15 per game. He’s also shooting over 50 percent from the floor during that time and 8-for-16 from 3-point range.
Harris is one of those guys who can lock down the perimeter while also putting up some numbers of his own. He’s averaging 10.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this year and he does have All-Star potential if he can just put everything together.
Over his career, he’s averaging 12.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals. He’s also shooting 45 percent from the floor and 36 percent from deep.
Harris would take a lot of pressure off Cassius in the backcourt.
