One name that has been on the minds of Spartan fans ever since his brother flipped from USC to Michigan State during the early signing period is Palaie Gaoteote.

When his brother, Ma’a, committed and signed with Michigan State, there was a feeling that he may join the mix and bring his services across the country to East Lansing. However, all has been quiet on that front as there’s a feeling that he may stay out west and maybe go back close to home with UNLV.

If he decides to play with his brother, Michigan State would welcome him with open arms based off the need for linebackers and the fact that he was fresh off a career season in 2019. In fact, he posted a career-high 58 total tackles and he had three tackles for loss.

Palaie could be an immediate impact guy in the middle of the defense as a former five-star recruit in the 2018 recruiting class. He was the No. 15 prospect in the cycle and the top inside linebacker prospect in the country, per the composite.

A duo of Ma’a and Palaie in the linebacking corps would be a huge win for Michigan State this offseason.
