1. MSU rights the ship, covers the spread

Right now, according to The Action Network, Michigan State is an eight-point favorite heading into Saturday night’s game. That’s a bit of a surprise given how bad the Spartans have looked so far in Big Ten play, but Nebraska has looked even worse and is sitting at 4-6 on the year.

Michigan State needs a win here to even have a chance to stay in the Big Ten title hunt and right the ship before it sinks and it’ll do just that.

Aaron Henry will play well, AJ Hoggard will show that he needs to be the starting point guard and Rocket Watts will look more comfortable playing off the ball. Joey Hauser will have one of his normal solid games and Malik Hall and Julius Marble will bring some energy off the bench to the post. Michigan State will play its best game since Duke and secure a big road win.

No, beating a Big Ten team with a losing record shouldn’t ever be considered a “big” win, but the Spartans need one in the worst way to avoid a major slump.

The slump will finally be busted on Saturday night with a win by 8-10 points.
