Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions vs. red-hot Minnesota
2. Rocket Watts is going to have his best game of the year
Along with helping to lock up Marcus Carr on the defensive end, Rocket Watts is going to have quite the game offensively. He’ll put up a season-high in points and he’s going to have at least five assists to go along with it, limiting turnovers as well.
Since posting a season-high 23 points in a win over Detroit Mercy, Watts has seen his numbers slip, scoring in double figures just once in the past four games.
Watts’ shooting numbers have been ugly and his confidence matches that. He’s just not playing with that swagger that we’re used to seeing from him and that’ll need to change if Michigan State is going to climb out of the hole that its currently in.
It’ll change on Monday night as Watts will go off for 25 points as the game’s top scorer, shooting over 50 percent as well.
Michigan State needs Watts to get back on track and with this near-perfect all-around showing on Monday, maybe this will wake the beast.
