Michigan State football signed most of their 2021 commitments in last week’s early signing period so which ones could have an immediate impact?

Mel Tucker’s first season in East Lansing can be considered a success because of the quality of his wins and the fact that he didn’t suffer any COVID-19 outbreaks and his guys bought in.

Sure, there have been a multitude of transfers since the season concluded, such as Rocky Lombardi, Devontae Dobbs, Julian Barnett and Christian Jackson, but the team looks like it’s going to start shaping into Tucker’s sooner rather than later with Mark Dantonio’s guys leaving and his own guys coming to town.

The transfer portal has hurt the Spartans depth with about a dozen transfers from the program, but it’s also going to help as Michigan State already picked up commitments from Anthony Russo, Harold Joiner and Jarrett Horst who could all be starters on offense next year.

On top of that, Tucker flipped USC four-star linebacker commit Ma’a Gaoteote during the early signing period and he became the highest-rated commitment in the 2021 class for MSU.

The only real bad news for Tucker’s 2021 recruiting class in the early period was the fact that four-star running back Audric Estime flipped to Notre Dame and Rayshaun Benny has reiterated that he’s solid to Michigan State despite not signing early.

From the group that did sign early, however, which three guys could have immediate impacts as true freshmen?
