Michigan State’s secondary has struggled this season, but there has been one constant, reliable option all season and it’s been cornerback Shakur Brown.

Through seven games this season, Brown has put up fantastic numbers. He is tied for the lead in all of the FBS with five interceptions. Plus, he has recorded four pass deflections and 25 tackles.

His impressive performance this season landed him a spot on the All-Big Ten first-team selected by the coaches. Brown also just announced he will forgo his senior season at Michigan State and enter the 2021 NFL Draft.

If Brown gets drafted, he will join Justin Layne and Josiah Scott in being the third straight cornerback drafted for the Spartans.

Brown was always a solid player on the Michigan State defense, but this year he stepped it up. In a top 10 win against Northwestern, Brown had two interceptions on Peyton Ramsey which helped lead the Spartans to a big win at home.

With the stellar play from Brown this season, it reflects well on cornerbacks coach Harlon Barnett, who will soon have another one of his players in the league.
