Linebackers Marcel Lewis, Luke Fulton and Charles Willekes have all entered the transfer portal for Michigan State, so the linebacker room is already quite thin. Behind Antjuan Simmons the amount of talent in the position group is lackluster from what we have seen so far this season.

Former Vanderbilt linebacker, Dimitri Moore, has found his way in the portal and he has had quite the career so far. In 30 games for the Commodores, Moore racked up 219 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, six pass deflections and 1.5 sacks.

Given the state of the Michigan State linebacking corps, a player like Moore would compete right away for a spot on the field.

Moore was an SEC All-Freshman selection in 2018 and he led the team in tackles in 2019 with 99.

Not only is Moore prolific on the field, but he also was an SEC Academic Honor Roll selection during his tenure at Vanderbilt. Plus, he was selected as a two-time captain on the team.

A talented player who was intangibles and can help Michigan State on and off the field is someone Tucker needs to be eyeing in the portal.

Moore will be a graduate transfer, so the former Commodore will not have to sit a year if he were to pick the Spartans as a future destination.

So far the 2021 Michigan State recruiting class has only one linebacker commit, A.J. Kirk, so this is clearly a position that needs to be stocked up on. Adding Moore would be an absolute no brainer for coach Tucker.
