Notre Dame will visit the Breslin Center on Saturday night to give Michigan State basketball its first real test of the season. This one should be interesting.

Michigan State notched its first win of the season on Wednesday night over Eastern Michigan rather comfortably while Notre Dame has yet to see the floor in live action.

Notre Dame comes to the Breslin Center on Saturday night for an intriguing battle of power conference foes. If Michigan State can play like they did for most of the game against Eastern, Notre Dame will have a tough time slowing the Spartans down.

Joshua Langford, Foster Loyer, Gabe Brown and Rocket Watts are all threats around the perimeter along with Joey Hauser and Marcus Bingham Jr. who both have the ability to stretch the floor.

Does Notre Dame have anyone who can match up? Will the Spartans cruise to 2-0?

3. Marcus Bingham Jr. gets start, records double-double

We saw Thomas Kithier get the start at the five against Eastern Michigan on Wednesday but I think Tom Izzo is OK with shuffling that position until someone proves himself.

That’s why I believe Marcus Bingham Jr. will get the nod on Saturday.

Notre Dame’s Juwan Durham is a similar player, frame-wise, as he also needed to put on some weight this offseason and did so. This could be a game in which Bingham Jr. proves himself as the better of the two lanky, yet growing, big men.

Bingham Jr. will have himself a day, getting the start, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds with three blocks. This could be the start of something special.
