6. Aaron Henry plays himself into first-round consideration

Aaron Henry was oh so close to leaving Michigan State after two seasons, following in the footsteps of his mentor and friend Gary Harris.

There’s no shame in being a two-and-done player, but when Henry committed to Michigan State, he wasn’t expected to be an early departure. Everyone knew the talent was there and he had the potential to be an NBA player, but if you told me that he would be considering leaving after his sophomore year, I would have called you crazy.

The former three-star recruit has already exceeded expectations and his athleticism on the wing has caught the attention of the NBA. He’s already on the radar.

There are some things Henry needs to work on such as ball-handling, decision-making and shooting. He’s already considered a leader among his teammates and he is a plus defender, but if he can improve on the offensive end, he’ll be a true pro prospect.

Henry will do just that this season, averaging career-bests in scoring and shooting categories, leading to a first-round grade by NBA scouts.
