8. Gabe Brown becomes one of Big Ten’s best sixth men

Michigan State has some talented potential sixth men. The one who gets the least amount of love but could be a star for the Spartans is Gabe Brown.

Don’t get me wrong, he was underwhelming after a strong start to his sophomore season. He got sick before the Wisconsin game in Madison, played a minute and then never returned. He wasn’t the same after that game as his confidence was rattled.

Brown has an elite shooting touch and when he has the confidence, he’ll shoot over 40 percent from deep and about 45 percent from the floor. He can drive to the hoop and we saw some of his athletic ability earlier in the season when he soared for some highlight dunks. He can do it, we just never see it.

As a junior, Brown is going to be one of the guys who help Michigan State reach that next level. If the Spartans are going to win a fourth straight Big Ten title, he needs to be a top-tier threat off the bench.

He will be.

Though he may not win Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year, Brown will be one of the conference’s best bench players.
