Tight End

On April 29, tight end Kameron Allen committed to Michigan State. A couple months later, IMG Academy tight end Jake Renda also committed, but he would eventually go back on his pledge.

So far, the only tight end to record a catch for Michigan State this season is the veteran Matt Dotson. The talent at tight end is seemingly one of the weakest on the roster. Backup Trenton Gillison has shown flashes, but right now in 2020 he’s been quiet.

Garret Gillette and Bryson Nesbit are the only two uncommitted prospects with tight end offers. Maybe Michigan State makes a late push ahead of signing day, but as of right now it is not exactly clear.

Michigan State could also make an addition to tight end via the transfer portal, if they decide to not go after a 2021 player.

No matter how they do it, Michigan State will need to add another tight end somehow. Talent is a desperate need at the position.
