Michigan State football recruiting is picking up some serious steam after beating Michigan over the weekend. Mel Tucker has his mojo back.

Sometimes all it takes is one big win.

After losing to Rutgers, Michigan State’s recruiting momentum seemed to take a bit of a break. There was chatter on social media about Greg Schiano getting in the ear of four-star running back commit Audric Estime. Would Geno VanDeMark and Kevin Wigenton also give the hometown Scarlet Knights another look?

All of those doubts about the 2021 class have been crushed thanks to an upset win by the Spartans over No. 13 Michigan on the road.

There’s plenty of excitement regarding Michigan State on and off the field right now and it’s obvious when it comes to the recruiting circuit.

Even 2021 Michigan State commits are taking notice of the shift.

And then there was this tweet from three-star Michigan wide receiver commit Andrel Anthony who shocked everyone when he picked the Wolverines over the hometown Spartans.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, there’s plenty of talk about the staff trending with one of the top remaining targets in the 2021 class, Rayshaun Benny. The four-star from Oak Park, Mich., is making his decision on Nov. 9 and all signs lately seem to be pointing to Michigan State over Michigan and Penn State.

Don’t believe me? Recruiting experts, such as Justin Thind, are on the side of Michigan State for this one.

He’s been joined by Corey Robinson, Allen Trieu and Steve Wiltfong in putting in predictions favoring the Spartans.

If Michigan State can land Benny, who is ranked the No. 188 prospect in the class, and potentially flip Anthony from Michigan, the momentum would be huge heading into the 2022 class and beyond.

Tucker just won the biggest game of his career and the recruiting impact has been immediate.
