Michigan State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Michigan in Week 9
1. MSU’s playmakers impress, keep it closer than expected
I’ve been fairly pessimistic in my predictions over the past week after watching Michigan State lose to Rutgers in the opener but I’m going to be a little bolder and more optimistic here.
Michigan State has some impressive playmakers from Jayden Reed to Jalen Nailor to Elijah Collins to Jordon Simmons and they can put some pressure on the Wolverines. We may see all three quarterbacks, but that might be more for a momentum thing and trying to find the hot hand than anything else, so don’t think that’s because it’ll be a massive blowout right away.
The Spartans are going to keep this close for three quarters and the line might be 23.5 and I would normally pick Michigan to cover, just based off of last season and seeing each team in the opener, but they will surprise some people.
No one — and I mean absolutely no one — is picking Michigan State to win this one. That’s fuel enough for these guys and you better believe the staff is letting these guys know.
It’s #disrespekt season and Michigan State thrives in that.
I don’t think the Spartans win, but I do believe this will be closer than people expect much like the 2016 game was. My original prediction was 38-13 Michigan, but I’ll say the Wolverines win by 10-14 and are sweating this one out until the final whistle.
