2. We are going to see all three quarterbacks

Is this one really a bold prediction? Based on the first performance from Rocky Lombardi and the confidence that Jay Johnson, Mel Tucker and the coaching staff seem to have in their senior quarterback, yes.

Rocky is going to get the start and while I don’t think he’ll play poorly, the offense will have a tough time driving the field and the staff will look to make a momentum shift with a quarterback change. In rivalry games, sometimes all you need is momentum and if the starting quarterback isn’t generating it, it doesn’t hurt to make a change.

Payton Thorne will come in and score a touchdown but then he, too, will suffer through an offensive dry spell and then Theo Day will get a shot.

I’m not going to make a prediction on final numbers, but these guys will rotate in and out until the coaching staff finds the hot hand.

Will it be Rocky? Theo? Payton? Who knows, but we will see all three quarterbacks take the field for at least one drive each on Saturday.
