3. Speed on offense

With all due respect to Cody White, Felton Davis, Connor Heyward and other former Spartan offensive headliners, it’s going to be really nice to finally see some speed on offense for this Michigan State team.

On offense, we’ll see the return of Elijah Collins, who may not be blazing fast, but has a deceptive speed and a Saquon Barkley-type presence out on the field. He should only be faster and stronger after a breakout 2019 season and an elongated offseason. Watch out for his name on the All-Big Ten teams after this coming season.

When you take a look at the receiver position, this is where we’ll really be seeing a burst of acceleration for MSU. One one side, we have Jalen Nailor, who is easily one of the fastest players in the Big Ten. On the other we’ll be getting another boost with transfer Jayden Reed, who will bring a quickness that we haven’t seen in East Lansing since, well, ever. He’s the type of guy who will thrive on offense and likely on special teams as well.

This probably won’t be a good offense, but I can promise you that it’ll be exciting to watch after years of Dave Warner and Brad Salem. Be ready to enjoy a more balanced Michigan State team under Mel Tucker.
