Opening the Mel Tucker era with the worst team in the Big Ten seems like a gift for the Spartans but this still won’t be an easy win. No game this season will be.

With that being said, it would be an absolute shock if Michigan State is unable to win this one against the Scarlet Knights who are also in a new era and have way more questions on both sides of the ball. Michigan State just needs to find a quarterback and we will see how “relentless” this team really is.

Michigan State goes up big early and doesn’t look back.

Final Score: Rutgers 13, Michigan State 33 (1-0)

While many believe Michigan is beatable this season with a new quarterback and replacing some key players on both sides of the ball — and some guys have opted out — but the Spartans will have to go to the Big House for this one (no fans, no big deal, right?) and it’s going to be quite the wake-up call after Rutgers.

We will find out just how seriously Tucker is going to treat this rivalry game and as long as it’s competitive — unlike last year — fans will be content.

Don’t expect a win, though.

Final Score: Michigan State 14, Michigan 31 (1-1)
