Who opted out? Who will play?

A few MSU players opted out of the 2020 season before it was eventually postponed, and there has been no word on if three out of the four have changed their minds.

Freshman linebacker Marcel Lewis initially opted out, but after today’s news decided to opt back in. The Spartans’ best returning defensive player, defensive end Jacub Panasiuk, opted out and has not decided on his next move. Offensive linemen Jordan Reid and Justin Stevens also opted out and have not decided on their futures either. Lewis is not expected to play much this season.

Physical specimen, and redshirt freshman, Michael Fletcher could be in play for that spot left void by Panasiuk.

Top recruit from 2018 Devontae Dobbs is in line to replace Reid, which might be fortunate for Michigan State, because he has a higher ceiling and is probably the better player. Stevens was also not expected to play much this season.
