Assists: Rocket Watts

This one was a little tough because I don’t see Rocket Watts being the type of passer Cassius Winston was, but he’s going to have to be a facilitator if he’s going to run the point.

Sure, we could see someone like Josh Langford step up or even Aaron Henry, but there aren’t many options for this category. I don’t see Foster Loyer or AJ Hoggard coming off the bench to lead the Spartans in assists in limited action, so Watts is the most logical option.

Watts won’t average 5.9 assists per game like Cassius did in 2019-20, but he’s going to hover somewhere around the 4-5 mark and that should be good enough.

No one is expecting Rocket to come in and replace Cassius’ production and impact immediately, especially passing the ball, so if he can hover around 4-5, the Spartans would benefit greatly and that means that Langford and Henry could average 2-3 and passing wouldn’t take a step back.
