Michigan State Football: Predicting final stat leaders for upcoming 2020 season
Sacks
Sack leader: Naquan Jones
If this were 2019, predicting who would lead the team in sacks would be almost a given. The answer would undoubtedly be Kenny Willekes and he did just that with 10 to go along with 15.5 tackles for loss. He’s gone now as the former walk-on was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Along with Willekes being gone, Raequan Williams and Mike Panasiuk all moved on as well, looking to make active rosters after being assigned to NFL practice squads.
Oh, and Jacub Panasiuk has opted to sit out the 2020 season so whenever football does return, it looks like it’ll be without the senior defensive end.
That’s why my prediction here is Naquan Jones who had just 15 tackles and a sack last season but looks poised for a breakout campaign. NFL scouts love his size and strength but has been buried behind deep defensive line units for years. He’s now the star of the show up front and will get plenty of opportunities to prove himself.
I’m going to say Jones finishes with 5.5 sacks on the year, leading the team.
