3. Instant offensive line improvement under Chris Kapilovic

Chris Kapilovic is known for building great offensive lines. He’s done it at North Carolina and he did it again in a short stint at Colorado. He’s going to do it once again at Michigan State.

There’s no doubt that Kapilovic was one of the best hires by Mel Tucker this offseason and he’s going to take advantage of the talent along the Spartans’ offensive line which has never seemed to live up to its potential — or at least it hasn’t in years.

While Jim Bollman and Mark Staten produced some decent linemen, but they have never really lived up to the expectations placed upon them.

Instant improvement under Kapilovic is almost expected as the Spartans return guys like Luke Campbell, Matt Carrick, Matt Allen, Kevin Jarvis, AJ Arcuri, JD Duplain, Nick Samac, James Ohonba and Devontae Dobbs. That’s not even mentioning some of the younger guys and incoming freshmen who could rise up the depth chart this season.

With instant improvement up front, the entire offense will improve and that was the major downfall of this side of the ball for the past couple of years.
