After sewing up the 2021 recruiting class, Michigan State basketball and Tom Izzo set their sights on the 2022 cycle. Who tops the list of targets?

Tom Izzo has been on a heater lately. Landing No. 1 overall recruit in the country Emoni Bates was the start of a special run which was followed up by the commitment of No. 1 shooting guard Max Christie, No. 1 Canadian-based prospect Enoch Boakye and Michigan’s No. 2 recruit for 2021, Jaden Akins.

Right now, the 2021 recruiting class has three commitments in Pierre Brooks, Christie and Akins which is good for No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 4 in the nation.

For 2022, Michigan State has Bates and Boakye which is No. 1 in college basketball, but there’s a good chance both of those five-star prospects will reclassify and join the 2021 class. Heck, Bates even took to his Instagram to say that a reclassification is very possible after the Akins commitment.

But with the 2021 class all but sewn up with five likely members, Izzo and Co. have to set their sights on the 2022 class.

There hasn’t been a ton of talk about the 2022 class, but here are the guys that should top the Spartans’ list.
