Four-star point guard Jaden Akins is set to announce his college decision on Thursday and here’s why he’ll pick Michigan State basketball.

This is the year that will never end. The 2020 calendar year has been a nightmare for just about everyone and especially people who love sports because they’ve been almost collectively cancelled for months.

It all started with the postponement of the NBA and NHL seasons in March followed by the cancellation of March Madness and then Major League Baseball followed suit. Then college football cancelled spring practices and games and halted all in-person recruiting. This made Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker’s job even tougher.

Good news has followed Michigan State basketball around, for the most part, however. Despite having the 2019-20 national title run cancelled, recruiting has been elite this offseason.

Tom Izzo is putting in some serious work and he landed the No. 1 player in the country in Emoni Bates, followed by five-stars Max Christie and Enoch Boakye. All of these guys could potentially team up in the 2021 class if Boakye and Bates reclassify and there’s another big name on the board for the cycle in four-star point guard Jaden Akins.

The Farmington, Mich., native is set to announce his college decision on Thursday afternoon and many believe Michigan State will be his choice.

Here’s why I believe he’ll pick the Spartans.
