Checking in at No. 10 is Shannon Brown who was Tom Izzo’s highest-ranked commitment ever in the 2003 class and he definitely played like it.

Although Brown didn’t have a massive immediate impact, averaging 7.9 points per game as a true freshman, he saw his numbers rise as a sophomore to 10.9 points and 3.2 rebounds. He was one of those incredible athletes who could jump out of the gym. He was good for one highlight dunk per game and it usually brought the house down.

While he had two first-round exits in his three-year career in East Lansing, he helped the Spartans make the Final Four as a sophomore, beating Duke and Kentucky in the same tourney.

If Brown’s team doesn’t fall victim to a George Mason upset during his junior season, ending his MSU career, he’s probably higher on this list. He averaged 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting a career-best 39 percent from 3-point range that season.

Another year of Brown would have also placed him much higher on this list.
