Michigan State Basketball: Ranking the 5 best uniforms of all time

2. The 2000 national title uniform throwbacks

What’s not to like about these uniforms? The Michigan State design on the front is one of the best we’ll ever see. The trim on the edges of the uniform is perfect. The subtle use of black is on point. Honestly, you could make a very strong argument for putting these in first place.

Not only is the design sublime, but these were originally worn by Mateen Cleaves and his teammates during the 2000 title season. Any photos you see of Tom Izzo’s championship team will feature these beauties. You would find no complaints if these were added to the normal rotation of uniforms.

Michigan State wore these uniforms sporadically last season and fans will hope to see them consistently in the future. We saw Rocket Watts become a star in these jerseys and if not for a canceled season, who’s to say we wouldn’t have seen another national championship in them?
