4. Oklahoma Sooners

We go from “not very rewarding” to a “yearly title contender” potential addition.

Oklahoma has been dominating the Big 12 for years and the Sooners just make sense for that conference, but unless it expands, there’s a chance it could lose some of its top teams to other leagues looking to cash in.

The Sooners leaving the Big 12 would be quite the sight, but everyone thought the same thing with Nebraska. Sure, the Sooners have been far more successful than Nebraska over the past couple of decades, but that was a monster addition for the Big Ten. Oklahoma could follow suit and shock the country.

Oklahoma would be the furthest south of all Big Ten teams, but Nebraska stretches the furthest west. It’s only a matter of time before the Big Ten thinks about expanding south.

If Lincoln Riley is still in charge of Oklahoma and the Sooners get added to the Big Ten, Ohio State may have its next major challenger and a team that could meet the Buckeyes in the title game every year. Those would be epic battles — as we’ve seen in years past.
