Michigan State Basketball: Top 3 targets after Emoni Bates commitment
Rumors have been swirling about a potential Max Christie commitment for about a week now and when there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.
Christie is one of the best recruits left on Michigan State’s board in terms of ranking in the next couple of classes and he’d be a massive win for Tom Izzo. All you have to do to realize just how big this would be if Emoni Bates reclassifies. Christie and Bates in the same lineup together would not be fair for the rest of the Big Ten and college basketball in general.
The Spartans would have a potential lineup with Rocket Watts at the point, Christie at shooting guard, Bates at small forward, Joey Hauser at power forward and Mady Sissoko at center.
Christie is the No. 1 shooting guard in the country in the 2021 class and the 13th-best overall prospect, according to the composite. He was once considered a Duke lock, but that is no longer the case as Michigan State made up some major ground and has seemingly taken the lead.
Right now, Christie is the top target remaining on the board for the Spartans not named Karim Mane.
