Michigan State Football: Top 5 Spartan uniforms of all time
5. 1965-66 uniforms
I couldn’t actually find a licensed photo of helmets from 1965-66 because of how old they are, but here’s a photo of some guys who were probably watching MSU football at that point in time. I did, however, find a tweet with these uniforms in it.
The uniforms themselves are nothing out of the ordinary for Michigan State football, but the helmet is what completes this look. This green helmet comes equipped with the classic Spartan head, which almost looks like a distant relative of Gruff Sparty.
This logo was the result of a campus-wide design contest. While the logo looks great, these uniforms were only worn for a single season, and the logo slowly evolved into that which we know of today.
