Julian Barnett, Michigan State football cornerback

I actually almost left Julian Barnett off of this list because I’m not certain that he’ll be getting a ton of playing time at cornerback. This isn’t due to lack of talent, but rather the fact that he’s an extremely versatile athlete.

We’ve seen him line up on offense more than defense to this point, and while it has been stated by coaches that he’ll be playing on defense this season, I think we have enough talent on that side of the ball already.

If Barnett does play defense, though, I promise you he’ll be a lockdown corner. You’ll notice a theme here in that he was a former four-star high school cornerback and ranked 57th nationally, making him the highest-ranked player on this team. That, of course, is a result of how bad the recruiting had been for Mark Dantonio in recent years.

I look forward to seeing him play on either side of the ball, and whether or not he plays defense next year, he’s a guy to watch.
