1. Someone on defense has an All-American season

With countless key staples of the Spartan defense from the past three years gone, there will be more than enough room for someone new to step up. Joe Bachie, Raequan Williams, Kenny Willekes, David Dowell, Josiah Scott and more, all gone.

There are still some standing though, with guys like Xavier Henderson, Jacub Panasiuk and Antjuan Simmons leading the way. I think one of these guys could easily have a breakout season this year. They’ve all been cemented as solid starters, but have the chance to be more than just starters under Mel Tucker’s new staff.

Another name to be considered here is incoming freshman Darius Snow, who has already made himself into a fan favorite.

Even a guy like Julian Barnett has a big chance to become an MSU legend. He’s probably the most athletic guy on the team and he can make a huge impact on both sides of the ball.I’m looking forward to seeing what he can contribute on defense this coming season.
