There has been talk about Max Christie being a lock to Duke in the 2021 class but that has looked to be less believable over the past couple of months.

In fact, Christie has talked to recruiting analysts and when asked about who is recruiting him the hardest, he hasn’t mentioned the Blue Devils. Is it by design because he doesn’t want people to think he’s a Duke lock? Possibly, but it’s no secret that Tom Izzo is putting in the work to show him that he’s a priority for the Spartans.

Christie would be a solid wing for the Spartans as a 6-foot-6, 165-pound shooting guard from Illinois and he’s also being courted by the home-state Illini and Northwestern.

If you’re looking for a player comparison for him, you’d likely be happy to hear that Brian Snow of 247Sports sees him as a Gary Harris-type player. If he’s anything like Harris and Michigan State lands him, Spartan fans would be ecstatic.

Christie is the No. 13 player in the class and the nation’s top shooting guard, according to the composite rankings.
