This is a tough projection because the one-time first-round prospect after a breakout sophomore season has plummeted and it’s likely due to his failed drug test during his senior year. He may not have been a first or even a second-round thought, but there was talk of him going on Day 2 of the NFL draft before he tested positive for a banned substance. Joe Bachie has NFL talent, in my opinion, and even if he goes late or not at all, he’ll stick on an NFL roster.

Projection: Seventh round or undrafted

Built in the same mold as a Raequan Williams, Mike Panasiuk also has some serious strength on the interior of the defensive line and I could see him surprising some teams in fall camp. He could be a seventh-round flyer, but if he went undrafted, I wouldn’t be all that shocked because he didn’t quite have the exposure that he deserved. He did break out as a senior with 10 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Projection: Seventh round or undrafted

It was tough to watch David Dowell go from All-Big Ten first-teamer as a sophomore to an inconsistent safety as a senior. He regressed a bit and that has caused him to look like an undrafted free agent, at best. He has some tools that NFL teams like such as size and speed, but he gets turned around quite often and can lose track of assignments.

Projection: Undrafted

Darrell Stewart Jr. is a guy who I could see sneaking into the late rounds of the NFL draft as a flyer for a team looking for a receiver who can make things happen after the catch. He’s shifty, quick and has good hands and was on pace to have a monster 2019 season before he got injured. This kid grew into a leader during his final season and has some key attributes that teams look for.

Projection: Undrafted

I’ll admit, I never thought I’d be talking about Matt Seybert as a potential NFL tight end, but he’s going to surprise some folks at the next level. He worked hard to earn some playing time as a senior and became the Spartans’ most productive tight end. He can run routes, catch and has a toughness about him. Will he stick on a roster? That remains to be seen.

Projection: Undrafted

Guys like Josh Butler, Tyriq Thompson, Jake Hartbarger and Tyler Higby are all looking to make NFL roster as well but will likely do so more in the way of undrafted free agency.
