3. Pitt Panthers

The Fighting Pat Narduzzis would be an intriguing opponent for Michigan State but it would mostly be for the fans at this point because Mark Dantonio is no longer at the helm.

Many believed that Narduzzi would take over for Dantonio once he retired, but his lackluster record at Pitt changed some perspectives in that regard. He’s one of the best defensive minds out there, but he may be better suited as a defensive coordinator than Michigan State’s next head coach.

Either way, Narduzzi is still a beloved figure in East Lansing for what he did for the program.

Scheduling a game with a former defensive coordinator who led Michigan State to some of the best years in program history would be exciting to watch. A nice home-and-home with the former defensive coordinator would be great, especially with him coming back home to East Lansing and taking the field to a standing ovation.

This wouldn’t be a heated game like it would be with, let’s say, Nick Saban, but it’d be a relatively even battle in the early years of Mel Tucker.
