The next player who’s lined up to pick up some production is transfer forward Joey Hauser.

Many people expected Hauser to receive some sort of eligibility for this past season and were rightfully upset when his waiver was denied. This, however, actually ended up being a positive, as the season was cut short thanks to COVID-19 and the Spartans were never able to play in the Big Ten or NCAA tournaments.

Hauser averaged about 10 points per game during his freshman season at Marquette before transferring. He tacked on 5.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists, all while shooting over 42 percent from three. This five-time Big East freshman of the week will give the spartans a much-needed boost on offense that they could have used this past season.

Hauser should fill Tillman’s gap pretty well, even though their play styles do not match at all. This big man is a great shooter, something Michigan State has missed out on the past couple of years. He’ll stretch the floor and give the guards more space to work with.
