3. Offensive line (any position)

This was an easy choice for the simple fact that no one’s job is safe following the departure of Jim Bollman and introduction of Chris Kapilovic.

Michigan State’s offensive line was one of the worst in the nation last season and that had a lot to do with coaching, but execution was also lacking. With Kapilovic in charge, it seems like things will be turned around and he won’t be able to play favorites because he’s starting fresh with guys he’s just met. He’ll create his own ideal offensive line.

The talent is there along the entire line, but there just seemed to be some sort of disconnect last season which led to one of the worst run-blocking units in the Big Ten.

Every position on the line will face a heated battle, so it was tough to pick just one.

Offensive tackle will be interested. Cole Chewins decided not to pursue another year and Devontae Dobbs could rise up and live up to his lofty recruiting ranking in 2019. What about Nick Samac and JD Duplain? Could they both fit at tackle or guard? Will Jordan Reid make an extreme turnaround or will the vet be passed up by a young guy? Who starts at center? Will Kevin Jarvis be healthy?

So many questions, so many guys vying for five spots.
