Another former in-state prospect, like Devontae Dobbs and Michael Fletcher, Tre Mosley came to Michigan State with plenty of hype. He was a higher-rated three-star prospect but he was joining a position group that seemingly had plenty of depth, led by Darrell Stewart Jr., Cody White, Cam Chambers, Jalen Nailor and CJ Hayes.

That all changed with injuries.

Mosley was forced into action on Oct. 26 against Penn State and tied for the team lead with four receptions for 37 yards in a forgettable game for the Spartans. He didn’t stop there, tallying 21 receptions for 216 yards on the season, ranked fourth on the team.

Out of his 21 catches, 12 went for first downs, showing that he could be that reliable possession receiver that the offense desperately needed with Stewart Jr. out.

The former top-ranked receiver from the state of Michigan will get an opportunity to start in 2020 with both Stewart Jr. and White gone as well as Chambers transferring from the program. There’s a good chance he’ll be in that starting rotation with Jayden Reed, Jalen Nailor and/or Hayes.

We’re going to see a big jump in production for Mosley and his potential is exciting.
