1. Blowout at No. 9 Maryland

If you didn’t expect this to be No. 1, you probably fell asleep in the final two weeks of the season. When you think about Michigan State’s improbable comeback in the Big Ten title race, you’d have to point to this game as being the “wow, they’re going to do it, aren’t they?” moment.

Just three games earlier, Maryland marched into East Lansing, stole a win over the Spartans by finishing the game on a 12-0 run and essentially ending all hope for a Big Ten title at Michigan State. The Spartans then beat Nebraska and Iowa like they were supposed to before meeting up with the Terrapins again in College Park with GameDay in town.

The atmosphere was electric and it just had the feel of a Maryland win and crushing loss for the Spartans, but Michigan State came out as hot as it had all season, taking control early and never looking back.

Cassius Winston’s 50-foot buzzer-beater gave the Spartans an 11-point lead at the half and they just continued to play well in the second half, even going up by 18 at one point.

This was the win that boosted the Spartans’ confidence and gave them everything they needed for one final push at the Big Ten title. This also pulled MSU within one game of Maryland in the standings with two games to play.
