Michigan State Basketball: Simulating “what if” 2020 Big Ten Tournament
By Nate Rhoades
Although the Big Ten Tournament was cancelled this week, will Michigan State basketball win the ‘what if’ tourney simulation?
In light of all of basketball being cancelled in the best month for basketball fans people are curious to know what if. What if the season were to play out? Who would end up winning the Big Ten Tournament in a season where this was the deepest league and had a chance to get 10 teams into the big dance?
I’m here to keep you entertained through this month. Bringing you simulated games to still have fun with basketball.
Using the website WhatIfsports.com, I will be simulating each game and seeing all the upsets right here.
Here is the format of how this will work. It will be a straight up, simulated matchup between the two teams. Who ever wins will advance. I will post the Day 2 of the tournament shortly after. Box scores will be included to showcase how the players did in the simulated games.
The semifinals and championship will also follow that same format.

Can Michigan State maintain that momentum that it built at the end of the regular season and win the ‘what if’ Big Ten Tournament? The Spartans were devastated to find out their 2019-20 season ended so suddenly and Cassius Winston’s career fell short of a storybook ending with a Final Four berth and national title.
However, he did go out as a regular season Big Ten champ. But will he win the ‘what if’ Big Ten Tournament?
