Michigan State basketball picked up a monster comeback win over Penn State and the starting five dominated yet again.

A few minutes into Tuesday night’s game at Penn State, there was just that feeling of “oh no, it’s happening again.”

Penn State wasn’t missing shots and Michigan State couldn’t hit water if it fell out of a boat. The Nittany Lions mounted a 19-point first-half lead and then went into the locker room with a 15-point advantage and all the momentum in the world.

And then Michigan State went on a run of epic proportions. The Spartans erased that lead in the first five minutes of the second half, tying things up with about 15 minutes left in the game and then they took a 10-point lead with nine minutes left in the game. There was a 25-point swing in just 10 minutes and it had the Spartans believing again.

Whatever speech Tom Izzo gave at halftime worked as they just showed a fire in the second half and even a heated exchange between the Hall of Fame head coach and Cassius Winston didn’t seem to slow them down — it may have even made Cassius hungrier.

No team wants to see Michigan State right now as it erased a two-game deficit in the Big Ten standings in just a week, downing No. 18 Iowa last Tuesday, No. 9 Maryland on the road on Saturday night and then No. 20 Penn State this week.

One game stands between the Spartans and a Big Ten title and that takes place on Sunday against Ohio State on Senior Day.

Before we get into that, let’s take a look at the report card from Tuesday night’s win.
