2. Rocket Watts stays red-hot

One player who has been gaining a ton of steam of late is Rocket Watts. The freshman guard from Detroit looks like he’s morphing into a role that will help ease the pain of losing Cassius Winston next season. He looks ready to take the keys of Michigan State’s care and drive.

This confidence that he’s been playing with isn’t going away and he’s had it since the start of February and he just doesn’t get fazed on the road. In fact, he’s averaging 12.3 points per game over his last three road contests and he’s shooting the ball well during that time. In other terms, he’s been a cold-blooded killer on the road — just ask Maryland and Illinois.

That will continue against the Nittany Lions as he’ll record yet another double-digit performance against a ranked foe away from home.

Watts will make 7-of-13 shots from the floor for 17 points and he’ll add three assists and a couple of steals. He’s going to continue taking pressure off Cassius which will, in turn, improve the offense’s effectiveness.
