2. We saw a confident Gabe Brown again

This is something that Tom Izzo has wanted to see for weeks and Gabe Brown himself has probably felt that this was a long time coming. Ever since he missed most of the Wisconsin game on the road with an illness, he totaled just nine points in five contests. He had been averaging less than 2.0 points per game, but something clicked against Nebraska.

From the start, he was more aggressive and hit three early threes to gains some confidence. He even had a heat-check moment in the first half on a poor shot but even that’s a refreshing sight for Izzo and Co. because he had been hesitant to shoot before Thursday.

In fact, he had just 16 total field goal attempts in the previous five games but had nine against the Cornhuskers, making six of them for 17 points.

Heck, he even put the ball on the floor for a late drive and score that was reminiscent of early-season Gabe who had fans buzzing.

We just saw Gabe get some confidence back and that’s huge for the team moving forward.
