Angelo Grose is a kid who reminds me a lot of Josiah Scott. He may have a slightly different style of play, but he’s an aggressive cornerback with lockdown potential who rose through the ranks late in his high school career but still comes to Michigan State as one of the most underrated cornerbacks in the nation.

Now rated as a four-star by 247Sports, Grose is one of the lone players with that distinction in Michigan State’s 2020 class, but the composite has him listed as the No. 685 player in the country.

Could he be a surprise? Yes because there are still some fans who don’t know much about him and everyone just assumes there are no early contributors at cornerback for 2020 — he is the only cornerback committed in the class.

If Michigan State can get him on the field early on, he could be a surprise contributor who helps replace Scott and Josh Butler in the starting lineup.

There are no expectations for a kid like Grose in 2020, but I wouldn’t be all that surprised if he opened some eyes and cracked the rotation.
