1. Michigan State can’t let this loss carry over

Short-term memory is what you need to have when you play in the Big Ten. Teams lose on the road all the time but Michigan State lost in an emphatic way at Mackey on Sunday.

This is something that can either break a team down or get them to come together.

Last season, Michigan State got down by 23 points at Purdue, pulled within four but still ended up losing the game and that turned into a three-game losing streak. They went back home and lost to Indiana and everyone hit the panic button. We all know how the season ended, but this needs to be more of a wake-up call earlier on because of the way MSU lost.

The Spartans didn’t show up in any regard and looked rattled from the get-go. They didn’t look like they wanted to be on the floor and that can’t carry over into Friday’s game against Wisconsin.

How the Spartans bounce back from this 29-point loss will be more telling of the team they are than what we saw on Sunday.

Michigan State needs to avoid the post-loss letdown which seems to happen every year and that starts with Cassius Winston getting back on track.
