3. LJ Scott’s reach (2015)

Some might be wondering how the trouble with the snap moment was just No. 4 on this list, and then you see that there were so many great moments that it makes sense.

This one had some playoff implications and if not for LJ Scott’s touchdown against Iowa, the Spartans may have never made that top-four. There were undoubtedly other factors that went into that playoff berth in 2015, but this was the capper. The freshman running back showed some major guts, fighting through about five Iowa defenders to score the go-ahead touchdown.

With only 33 seconds left, Michigan State found itself down 13-9 and it faced a third-and-goal at the 1-yard line. A run looked to be stopped short of the goal line, but Scott didn’t quit, spun out of Iowa defenders’ grasps on his way to the biggest score of his life.

What’s better here, the Scott touchdown or the Gus Johnson call? Obviously the Scott score, but Johnson’s excitement makes it that much better.

This is when everyone knew Michigan State would be heading to the playoff.
