1. Michigan State has a perfect month

College basketball is a tricky beast. One minute you look unbeatable and the next you’re playing a lesser opponent with an upset mentality — just ask Michigan State or even Duke.

The Spartans have found out that no wins come easy and when the target on your back is the biggest, teams are going to come at you that much harder. Michigan State has managed a 5-2 record through the first month with an opportunity to improve on that in December and potentially take home a perfect record before Big Ten play resumes.

Michigan State starts the month with Duke which I feel will come down to the wire with the Spartans making enough plays down the stretch to get the win.

Then Rutgers comes to town and that should be a sure win, but we all saw what happened last time the Scarlet Knights came to the Breslin Center. It’ll be a back and forth affair early before Michigan State pulls away late.

Oakland and Northwestern will be played away from home, but both teams are having average, at best, years so those will be wins, in my opinion, and then Michigan State hosts Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan to close the month.

Michigan State will go perfect at 6-0 in the month of December and head into January with an 11-2 overall record, 2-0 mark in conference play and spot just outside the AP top-five.
