3. Michigan State sweeps Champions Classic field

This seems impossible, right? Michigan State only plays Kentucky in the Champions Classic in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 battle but the Spartans will see Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge as well as a potential matchup with Kansas in the Maui Invitational. If the Spartans make the title game of the tournament, there’s a good chance Kansas will be waiting for them.

I think Michigan State will take care of Kentucky in the Champions Classic because of the experience difference. The Wildcats might be the most talented team in the country not named Michigan State, and there’s a reason they’re ranked No. 2, but I think the Spartans will use that experience to top Kentucky.

Then we get to the Maui Invitational and I believe Michigan State will take care of business to get to the title game. Kansas will be tough and beat the Spartans last season, but they’ll get their revenge to win the tournament.

And then Duke comes to town for a monster Big Ten/ACC matchup. Michigan State finally ended the Blue Devil drought for Tom Izzo in 2018-19 to make it to the Final Four and the Blue Devils won’t be quite as loaded as they were last season. Michigan State wins here.

Michigan State will sweep the Champions Classic field which will really give this team some confidence but the Seton Hall game might be a different story.
