1. Michigan State wins Maui Invitational

Remember when Maurice Ager was draining threes to send the Spartans to overtime after overtime in the Maui Invitational against Adam Morrison and Gonzaga? The Spartans ended up losing, but that was an instant classic at the time and it felt like Michigan State should have come out on top. We won’t get quite the enticing action this year, but Michigan State will have better results.

While there’s no Gonzaga in this year’s field, there are some solid teams such as Kansas, UCLA, Georgia and Virginia Tech. If the Spartans make it to the title game, which they should, they’ll likely face the Jayhawks.

Michigan State will opener the Maui Invitational with a matchup against Virginia Tech and come away with a big win. The Spartans and Hokies will fight back-and-forth in the first half before Michigan State pulls away in the second half with a double-digit win. Georgia will be no match for the Spartans in the second round as they make the title game on Nov. 27.

Kansas will await the Spartans in the title game and it’ll be another one of those top-10 matchups on everyone’s radar. Michigan State will win and end the month without a loss and a Maui Invitational trophy.
